About Victoria May
The beginning of Victoria May handmade, chemical-free soaps
After spending several years building up a successful IT and Web Design business with my husband, I decided that I would like to take a step back and explore my creative side, specifically venturing into the realm of soap making.
Having a family history of sensitive skin, I decided to look at skin care products available on the high street, and discovered that they are largely based upon the use of chemicals which irritate people with either sensitive or dry skin or those with common skin conditions, such as eczema or psoriasis. So, being inspired both by the desire to make soaps which would be kind and gentle to even the most sensitive skins and by my surroundings in the heart of the beautiful Staffordshire countryside, I embarked on the centuries-old, traditional art of cold process soap making, with an emphasis on using fine, natural, pure ingredients.
After some time, I had developed a range of beautiful handmade soaps, using only natural ingredients, kindly tested out by family and friends! I then extended the range to include other bath and beauty products designed to soothe, nourish and moisturise the skin.
We still use the cold process method – a slow method of production which requires 4-6 weeks curing time for each batch of soap, but which produces the most mild and moisturising soaps for sensitive, dry skins. They are full of character, delicious scents, natural goodness and beneficial ingredients. Making our own products from scratch with fine, natural ingredients is still very important here at Victoria May – all our products are still made, poured, cut and wrapped by hand, and we intend to keep it that way. The quality of our products is of vital importance to us, along with using only natural ingredients.
So please take a look at our wonderful range of beautifully fragranced, handmade products. We are confident that we have little luxuries to inspire your every mood and leave you feeling refreshed.
